School hobby groups
The Finnish model of hobby in Äänekoski
Äänekoski is participating in the national competition The Finnish model of hobby in the project, which enables versatile school hobby activities in Äänekoski. In Äänekoski, hobby activities according to the project are carried out in seven schools: Hietama, Honkola, Koivisto, Konginkanka, Koulunmäki, Sumiainte and Suolahti unified schools.
The hobby activities at Äänekoski schools are carried out with the help of a state subsidy granted annually by the Board of Education, and it is a free activity for children and young people. The children are insured on behalf of the school during hobby groups.
All to enjoy!
The purpose of the hobby activity is to offer a free hobby opportunity to all students of Äänekoski schools. The goal is to increase children's well-being through a pleasant hobby.
In the Everyone to do something project, the emphasis is on listening to the wishes of children and young people and implementing hobby groups through them.
Hobby activities are organized as soon as possible at the end of the school day, usually on the school premises or near the school between 12 and 17 p.m. Hobby groups usually meet weekly.
Hobby offerings and group-specific registrations can be found at the beginning of the school year From Äänekoski's peda.net. The groups start running mainly during September. More information will also be available through Wilma.
