Hop on the Kyläbus!
"There have been enough users, so a continuation is expected"

The Kyläbussi service of the city of Äänekoski will be continued and the city government decided that the Kyläbussi contract with Sisä-Suomen Aluetaksi Oy will be continued. The number of users of the village bus has been constantly increasing and they have been satisfied with the service.
The Äänekoski village bus service has been in operation for several years. The number of visitors has been constantly increasing. Last year Kyläbus traveled about 1 times and this year it is estimated to be about 900.
- Äänekoski Kyläbussi serves e.g. To make it easier for the residents of Suolahti, Sumiainen, Konginkanka, Koivisto and Honkola to get to the services. It has been noticed that there is a need for Kyläbuss and there have been enough users, so a continuation is planned, transport planner Tommi Maanselkä says.
The village bus is a good service for those living in villages
The Kyläbussi serves the people of Tunakoski who live in urban areas and villages, so that it would be easier for them to get to the center to the services. The village bus serves especially the elderly of Äänekoski, but it is intended for all Äänekoski residents of all ages, including young people.
The village bus runs its route every weekday from Monday to Friday. The village bus runs twice a day via the Äänekoski health center and the Äänekoski bus station on a ring-shaped standard route, serving the villages of Äänekoski. A more detailed route and schedule can be found on the city's website.
You can board from the bus stops along the route and you can also stay at the stops. You have to stop the village bus by waving your hand. There is no traffic on weekends and public holidays.
A village bus ride costs 3,30 euros one way, and the price is not likely to increase.
The link reform does not affect Äänekoski's Kyläbus
Next year, the city of Äänekoski will join the Jyväskylä Linkki urban transport area, but the reform will not affect the city of Äänekoski's own Kyläbussi service. Linkki transport makes it easier for the people of Äänekoski to travel between Äänekoski, Jyväskylä and other Linkki municipalities.
- Tendering for Linkki traffic will be carried out as early as next year 2024, and the green buses that also run in Jyväskylä will also start operating in Äänekoski no later than 2025. The unified public transport area has one payment and ticket system, which will make it easier to travel by public transport in the future, says Tommi Maanselkä.
