Cultural action

The task of Äänekoski's cultural services is to develop the cultural well-being, inclusion and accessibility of cultural services for the municipality's residents in Äänekoski.

The cultural activity shares operational and targeted grants for associations, individuals and working groups or committees formed from individuals and rents premises for event and exhibition activities (Cultural Center Painotalo, Suopunki, Hoikkassali).

In addition, the cultural activities of the city of Äänekoski:

produces performing arts events in Äänekoski throughout the year (including spring and autumn seasonal programs, Children's Cultural Days)
responsible for the city's celebrations (New Year's celebration, Independence Day celebration, National Veteran's Day)
produces the Äänekoski Christmas opening event in cooperation with Äänekoski entrepreneurs

Hoikkassali is an exhibition space connected to the Äänekoski main library, whose operation is in charge of the city's cultural department. The space is suitable. for fine art, photography and textile art exhibitions. No rent is charged for the space.

Lasso

Suopunki is a club and activity space in the center of Suolahti intended for associations and other operators. In Suopung, you can organize meetings and small-scale celebrations of organizations. There are about 50 seats.

Art hobbies

Äänekoski organizes versatile art hobby activities for children, young people and adults as well. These are offered by the Ala-Keitele music school of Koskela's settlement. Recreational activities open to young people are also organized by the city's youth services.
