History

The Äänekoski Art Museum began its operations in October 2005 on Klubinmäki, the so-called In Hammarén's house (Kuhnamontie 1, 44100 Äänekoski). The building was completed as the factory's superintendent's apartment in 1900. Later, several families of the factory's engineers lived in the building. From the late 1940s to the mid-1970s, the building functioned as a factory club and later as the district office of the Cooperative Metsäliito.
