Welfare promotion program

The task of promoting the well-being of the city of Äänekoski is extensive and it requires cross-administrative cooperation between different industries. It is also a municipal community issue, in which case the municipality's partners are volunteers, communities, organizations, companies and churches.

The citizens themselves take care of their own and their immediate community's well-being and health within their means for as long as possible. It should also be noted that well-being is not only individual well-being but also the well-being of communities. In addition to national legislation, the welfare work carried out in municipalities is standardized by national strategies (e.g. national children's strategy) and international human rights agreements and principles (children, disabled, elderly), which have been influential frameworks behind this document as well.
