What can I do in the library?
Visiting the library is free.
In the library you can read books and magazines,
use the computer and print.
You can also spend time in the library
and talk to others.
You can also bring your own computer to the library
and work or do homework.

You can also borrow things to take home.
You can borrow from the library, for example
- books
- games
- movies and
- music.
You need a library card for some services.
For example, to borrow things.
You also need a library card
so that you can enter the library during self-service time.
Then there are no employees in the library.

How do I get a library card?
You can get a Library Card at any library.
The library card is free.
You can get a library card,
if you have an address in Finland and
you provide the information requested by the library.
You need an ID,
with a personal identification number and a picture.
For example, an identity card.
The library card is personal.
Do not let anyone else use your card.
You are responsible for the things you borrow.
What can I borrow from the library?
When you have a library card,
you can borrow
i.e. take home all kinds of things.
For example
- books
- games
- movies and
- audiobooks.
from the online library,
i.e. you can see from the library's online service,
what everything is in the library.
You can search, for example, by the name of a book or movie.

You can also see online
which library is it in?
If you want to borrow an item,
which is not in your nearest library,
you can make a reservation for it.
You can ask the library for help.
The staff will help you.
The library also has reference books.

The library also has audio books.
Some audio books can be used by everyone.
Some audiobooks may only be used,
if you are a Celia customer.
You can register as a Celia customer at the library,
if you have a reading disability,
i.e. reading is difficult for you.

How do I borrow from the library?
You can borrow from customer service or at the machine.
The staff can help you use the machine.

When you borrow something, you get a loan receipt.
The receipt says by which day
you must return the thing you borrowed.
You can return the loan at the customer service,
or bring it to the library's return window.
If you return the borrowed item late,
or you lose or break the thing you borrowed,
you have to pay the library.
You can get more loan time by renewing the loan
in the library, online
or by calling the library.
What does booking mean?
Sometimes something to borrow
is not present in the library.
For example, a book you want to read.
Then you can make a reservation
in the library or online.
You can also book from other libraries in Central Finland.
This is called regional reservation.
The reservation comes to the library
which you decide yourself.
When you receive a notification,
you can come and borrow the reservation.
You have a week to apply for a reservation.
If you do not apply for a reservation in time,
you have to pay the fee.
Otherwise, booking is free.
Is there a fee to use the library?
Almost everything in the library is free.
However, you may have to pay a fee,
if you return the item you borrowed late,
or you lose or break the thing you borrowed.
If you have a lot of payments,
you may be denied a loan.
Then you cannot borrow from the library.
The loan ban is lifted when you pay the payments.
You can use the library facilities and computers,
even if you have a loan ban.
You can pay the fees in the library or online.
