Is reading a normal book difficult for you? An audio book can help when reading plain text is difficult. Accessibility library Celia's services are intended for everyone who finds it difficult to read printed text due to disability, illness or other similar reasons.
Accessibility library Celia is a state special library that supports equality in reading and learning. Celia cooperates with libraries, schools and publishers and, in addition to library services, offers advice on accessible publishing. Celia produces and transmits literature in accessible form, e.g. as audio books and braille books. Celia is part of the Ministry of Education and Culture's administrative branch. Celia produces books in an accessible format, e.g. as audio books. Celia's audiobook collection currently has around 50 audiobooks, and the collection is growing all the time.
You can become a user of Celia's free audiobook service Äänekoskija Suolahtithrough libraries by booking an appointment for a customer discussion. The services are intended for people with a reading disability, but no proof of a reading disability needs to be presented.
You can get domain names from the library, which you can use to listen to and download Celia's audio books online. A valid e-mail address is required to get credentials. Accessibility library Celia will stop registering new customers borrowing CD audiobooks on September 30.9.2024, 30.9.2025. Celia's terms of use for personal customers will be updated with the change. Starting in October, all new customers will join the service as online borrowers. Current CD customers can still borrow audiobooks in CD format until September XNUMX, XNUMX, but for new customers borrowing audiobooks, borrowing is only possible online.
