Services that promote integration

The city of Äänekoski is responsible for the reception of quota refugees and the initial integration. The city serves immigrants to the extent that they need services according to the Integration Act, providing support for settling and integrating in Finland and Äänekoski. Clients in the initial phase of integration have the same rights and obligations in the municipality as other municipal residents.

Integration services

The integration services of the city of Äänekoski provide general guidance and counseling services as well as initial integration guidance for quota refugees and those with a municipal place of residence. The employees are also involved in various networks and in the development of services, so that the community's services are accessible to all citizens.

Promoting integration

There are many people living in Finland who have moved from elsewhere. The authorities must consider the needs and wishes of immigrants in services. Immigrants use the same services of the municipality, welfare area and authorities as other residents. However, some immigrants may need more support.

Advice center for immigrants

Äänekoski's advice center for immigrants serves in the premises of Perhekeskus Kerkä. You can ask for advice from the immigration advice point, e.g. housing, work, education (vocational education in Finnish), residence permits, social security, health care and other everyday matters. The counseling service is free. You can come to the place during opening hours without an appointment.
