Vocational and other education

In the Äänekoski area, you can receive instruction in several different fields of study at the Northern Central Finland Vocational College. Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) and the Open University of the University of Jyväskylä jointly offer open higher education in Äänekoski. Basic art education is given at Ala-Keitele music college and Koskela. Koskela college organizes both civic college and folk college education.

Open higher education

Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences (Jamk) and the Open University of the University of Jyväskylä jointly offer open higher education in Äänekoski. The city of Äänekoski supports the studies of its citizens by awarding open university scholarships. In addition, young people aged 18–29 who have moved from Äänekoski to study elsewhere are entitled to an annual study scholarship of 350 euros, if they keep Äänekoski as their home municipality.

Basic art education is goal-oriented and annually progressing education in various art fields, which is organized primarily for children and young people.
