The renovation advice of the Central Association of Senior Citizens is the assessment of the needs for repairs and changes in apartments and the promotion of repairs and assistance in applying for grants for people over 65. The most common repairs needed in apartments for the elderly are changes to washrooms and various modifications to improve accessibility. Poor condition of structures and systems also causes a general need for basic repairs.

Repair advice supports living at home

The 14 regional repair advisors of the Finnish Federation of Senior Citizens assist war invalids, veterans and other elderly people in surveying, planning and applying for repair grants.

If necessary, the repair advisors also help in finding a contractor to carry out the modification work. Repair advice is free of charge, the customer pays for the repair costs themselves.
