Äänekoski city's employment subsidies for recruitment

The city of Äänekoski supports employers in hiring employees and creating new jobs. Support can be granted to companies, registered associations, foundations and private employers.

General conditions for granting employment subsidies

Municipal supplement can be granted to an employer who employs an unemployed job seeker who is a client of the municipal trial. The support is intended for hiring a new employee. The supplement is intended for recruitment, work space, work clothes, orientation and guidance costs arising from hiring a person. More can be granted to companies, registered associations, foundations and private employers (not employers under public law).

For a company engaged in commercial activities, the supplement is granted as a de minimis subsidy.

The application must arrive at the probation office within two months of the start of the employment relationship.

Conditions for the person to be hired 

The supplement can be granted to the following target groups from the municipality of Voivodeship: unemployed people who are clients of the municipal experiment and jobseekers in employment services (e.g. everyone under 30, immigrants/foreign speakers and those who have been out of work for a long time)

Conditions concerning the employer and the employment relationship

  • The employer must pay the employed person the salary in accordance with the collective agreement applicable to the employment relationship in question, or if there is no applicable collective agreement, a normal and reasonable salary must be paid. The salary must be 1100 euros/month, regardless of working hours (excluding bonuses: e.g. overtime compensation, holiday compensation, holiday pay).
  • no more is granted if the salary of the person to be employed is determined solely on the basis of the work result (commission, contract, bonus salary)              
  • working hours must be at least 18 h/week
  • the condition for granting the supplement is that the employer contributes to the hiring costs. Support is not granted if the financial support for employment exceeds the costs of hiring an employee.

The amount and duration of the municipal supplement for 2025 

  • An additional €600/month for the first 5 months, then €300/month for a maximum of 10 months can be granted for apprenticeship contracts.
  • For sole proprietors, an additional amount of €600/month for the first 5 months can be granted for hiring the first employee, after which €300/month for a maximum of 10 months, the support can be applied for once.

  • wage subsidy decision (if wage subsidy has been applied for the employment of the person in question)

Payment of municipal allowance 

The granted support is paid to the employer monthly in arrears against a pay slip, to the bank account specified by the employer. The recipient of the support must notify the employer of any changes in the employment relationship (e.g. termination of the employee's employment relationship or moving from the locality), as support paid without justification will be recovered.
