Cooperation between municipalities

The city of Äänekoski participates extensively in cooperation between municipalities. Some of the municipalities' cooperation is statutory, some is voluntary. Cooperation can be organized in different legal forms. The forms are stipulated in the Municipal Act.

Municipal corporations

The city of Äänekoski is a member of the following municipal associations:

The activities of municipal associations are described on their own websites. The basic agreement of each municipal corporation is also available on the website, which includes e.g. member municipalities' participation in decision-making.

The operation of the municipal corporation of the Central Finland Hospital District ended on December 31.12.2022, 1.1.2023. He is responsible for organizing and producing social and health care as of January XNUMX, XNUMX Central Finland welfare area. The welfare area is not a municipal corporation, and the city of Äänekoski has no other position in the welfare area's decision-making or financial management.

The operation according to the cooperation agreement of the rescue operation ended on December 31.12.2022, 1.1.2023. He is responsible for organizing and producing the rescue operation as of January XNUMX, XNUMX Central Finland welfare area.

Rescue service services in Central Finland are also provided by the Ministry of the Interior on the rescue operation's national websites.

The above agreement between the municipalities will enter into force on January 1.1.2025, XNUMX, when employment services will be transferred from the state to the responsibility of the municipalities.
