In the summer, Liikuntapuisto has athletics venues, two frisbee golf courses and an artificial grass field, a natural grass field, a sand artificial grass field for tennis, and two maintenance buildings with toilets and changing rooms. The main field has a covered grandstand. There are also long and versatile chewing trails that start from the sports park. In winter, the Liikuntapuisto has an artificial ice rink, a skating rink and cross-country skiing tracks with a versatile profile.

In 2023, the junior athletics championships were held at the athletics field. Skiing was done in the sports park, e.g. adult SC ski competitions in 2019 and 2024.

There is plenty of parking space in the area.

A lighted and paved first-snow slope in Äänekoski comes to the Liikuntapuisto in autumn, weather permitting, for 3,3 kilometers, which can be skied on traditional and free. Outdoor swimming spots / Winter swimming

The popular open-air swimming spot can be found in the city center at Häränvirra and in a scenic and peaceful location on the shore of Lake Suojärvi. Keys for the new season can be updated and redeemed at the cash desks of the swimming halls during cash register opening hours.

Beachvolley

There are six beach volleyball courts in Äänekoski. Of these, the courts in Äänekoski harbor have official beach volleyball sand on the bottom, and in the other sites, we have tried to select sand of a similar quality.

Frisbee golf

There are several frisbee golf courses in the Äänekoski agglomeration, both in the immediate vicinity of the city center and in interesting natural environments. Among these courses, the Frisbee golf course at Laajaranta is also a winter-maintained course.

Ski slopes

There are 250 kilometers of traditional skiing trails from Äänekoski. There are about 100 kilometers of skating rinks. There are approximately 27 kilometers of lighted trails. In addition, there is 2,4 km of lighted first snow slope (cannon slope).

Huuha family and traffic park

The fitness check is a new type of low-threshold fitness testing service. Two new fitness inspection routes have been opened in Äänekoski. The information board for the Äänekoski Keskusta route is located in Rantapuisto and the information board for the Suolahti route is located at Wanha station.

Fitness stairs

In the Äänekoski area, there are fitness stairs in Äänemäki, Suolahti kukulanmäki, Sumiainten Harjula and Huutomäki Honkola. Some of the fitness stairs will be illuminated in the fall of 2022 with new LED light strips. Äänekoski's fitness stairs do not have winter maintenance.
