Orienteering – Suolahti, Sumiainen, Konginkangas, Äänekoski

Äänekoski has a long tradition in orienteering. Rasti E4 acts as a club that unites the area, which runs, among other things, weekly evening Rasti activities during the summer. The society is also an active creator of orienteering maps. Maps have been made for championship-level competitions as well as for the needs of schools. The sports park also has MOBO checkers that can be navigated using a smartphone and a traditional one fixed crossing. Outdoor exercise

Outdoor swimming spots / Winter swimming

The popular open-air swimming spot can be found in the city center at Häränvirra and in a scenic and peaceful location on the shore of Lake Suojärvi. Keys for the new season can be updated and redeemed at the cash desks of the swimming halls during cash register opening hours.

Beachvolley

There are six beach volleyball courts in Äänekoski. Of these, the courts in Äänekoski harbor have official beach volleyball sand on the bottom, and in the other sites, we have tried to select sand of a similar quality.

Frisbee golf

There are several frisbee golf courses in the Äänekoski agglomeration, both in the immediate vicinity of the city center and in interesting natural environments. Among these courses, the Frisbee golf course at Laajaranta is also a winter-maintained course.

Ski slopes

There are 250 kilometers of traditional skiing trails from Äänekoski. There are about 100 kilometers of skating rinks. There are approximately 27 kilometers of lighted trails. In addition, there is 2,4 km of lighted first snow slope (cannon slope).

Huuha family and traffic park

The opening of the Huuha family and transport park on Thursday 6.6.2024 June 10 from 14 am to 9.00 pm: the transport park is open from 15.30 am to 10 pm, the mobile youth work Kesäkaara is on site from 12 am to 2024 pm. The program includes face painting, soap bubbles and serving juice and cookies. Hockey rinks and skating rinks

Äänekoski has several ice hockey rinks and skating rinks, the equipment level and size of which vary. Artificial ice in the sports park is number one in the priorities. The next step is to get Suolahti Asemakatu and Sumiainen center's ice in good shape.

In autumn 2024, a new children's transport park has been completed in Konginkanga. In the traffic park, children can practice traffic behavior with their own means of transport.

Fitness inspection routes

The fitness check is a new type of low-threshold fitness testing service. Two new fitness inspection routes have been opened in Äänekoski. The information board for the Äänekoski Keskusta route is located in Rantapuisto and the information board for the Suolahti route is located at Wanha station.

Fitness stairs

In the Äänekoski area, there are fitness stairs in Äänemäki, Suolahti kukulanmäki, Sumiainten Harjula and Huutomäki Honkola. Some of the fitness stairs will be illuminated in the fall of 2022 with new LED light strips. Äänekoski's fitness stairs do not have winter maintenance.

Fitness tracks

Äänekoski has longer lighted fitness tracks in Äänekoski Liikuntapuisto, Suolahte with the Nakertaja fitness track and Konginkanga with the kirkonkylä fitness track. Many municipalities have shorter fitness tracks of around 1-2 km, especially in connection with schools.

Playgrounds

Sports park

Nature trails

Rantaviidakko playground

In June 2024, a new theme park Rantaviidakko has been completed in the center of Äänekoski, Rantapuisto, in accordance with children's wishes. Skateboarding and Pump Track

Äänekoski's artificial ice is located in Liikuntapuisto in the hockey rink. The artificial ice (rink) of the sports park is usually well frozen when winter and frost come before other ice areas in the region.

Tennis

Äänekoski has tennis courts open in the summer in the Äänekoski sports park and Suolahti Suojarinte. In winter, tennis games move indoors to the Äänekoski tennis hall. In addition to the field, the hall has the club's ball cannon and hitting wall.

Swimming beaches
