The VAT change from 10% to 14% will increase prices

Updated 7.1.2025 

The change in the VAT rate from 1.1.2025% to 10% that entered into force on January 14, 4 affects the prices of sports services. This XNUMX% increase applies to gym and swimming hall fees, junior and senior cards and, among other things, the rents of sports facilities. The new prices are in use at checkouts and in the online store. 

Junior card

The junior card is a sports card for all young people from Tunakoski under the age of 18. 

The Junior Card entitles you to access the following sports facilities: 

Swimming pools

- Äänekoski swimming hall VesiVelho
- Suolahti swimming pool

Gyms*

  • The fitness and weight rooms of the gymnasium
  • Suolahti Asemakatu School's gymnasium
  • Suolahti swimming hall gym
  • Sumiainen fitness and gyms
  • Kongingkanka gym

*The customer chooses in connection with the purchase event which gym he wants to train at. The junior card entitles you to access one destination.

Children under 15 under the supervision of a guardian (the guardian must have a valid gym card). 

The card can be bought at the cash desks of the swimming halls. Proof of age is required when purchasing a card. For more information on matters related to the card's practices, the staff of sports services.

Card fee €7,30. If you already have a card, the new season will be loaded on the same card.

The card is personal.

  • Annual card €78 (valid for 12 months from the date of purchase)
  • Half-year card €57,20 (valid for 6 months from the date of purchase)

Senior card 65+ 

The senior card is intended for residents of Äänekoski who will turn 65 this year or older. Those on full-time and partial disability pensions are also eligible for the senior card.

 The senior card entitles access to the following sports facilities:

Swimming pools

- Äänekoski swimming hall VesiVelho
- Suolahti swimming pool 

Gyms*

  • The fitness and weight rooms of the gymnasium
  • The Suolahti swimming hall's gym is in the emergency rooms at Alkula's old daycare center until 372026 
  • Sumiainen's fitness and gymnasiums
  • Kongingkanka gym 

*The customer chooses in connection with the purchase event which gym he wants to train at. The senior card entitles you to access one destination.

As a bonus, Seniorikot residents receive admission to 1-2 cultural events.

The senior card includes free access to events according to the program organized by the cultural activities of the city of Äänekoski. When you buy the card, you will receive a separate cultural advantage card at the cash desk, on which cultural visits can be marked. The event can be a concert organized by a cultural activity or another event. Pre-registration for events is recommended. This ensures a place in the audience if it happens that the event is about to sell out in advance.

Water exercises

With the senior card, you can participate in the water jump by paying the water jump fee of €2,10. The card does not entitle you to participate in other guided groups free of charge.
