Sports Academy of Äänekoski High School

At Äänekoski high school, you can choose the so-called sports line by completing sports academy studies. The reading order enables the sports academy members to practice four times a week during the day, and they get study credits for sports. POKE athletes also participate in the Sports Academy's shifts.

The Sports Academy is organized as courses that include theory studies in addition to exercises. They discuss rest, nutrition and everyday management based on the training materials of the Olympic Academy. The life of an athlete is more than sports, and the goal is to be a healthy athlete.

The sports academy is intended for students who aim to practice a sport. It is also suitable for young people who are interested in an active lifestyle, who want an emphasis on sports in their high school studies and aim for, for example, postgraduate studies or work in sports, for example as a coach.

Jyväskylä Sports Academy serves as regional expert assistance. They support the training of student athletes in Central Finland in cooperation with educational institutions, clubs and coaches in the region. The Sports Academy helps athletes combine studies and sports. The Sports Academy is part of the elite sports network coordinated by the Olympic Committee.
