The Kovalanniemi area, located east of the Äänekoski agglomeration, is owned by the city of Äänekoski and a private landowner. The goal of the planning work is to either cancel the site plan or change the plan in such a way that the area's natural values and recreational use can be reconciled. The planning work will be started in 2019, if an agreement is reached on the measures related to the implementation of the plan.
