The city of Äänekoski has introduced an employee bicycle benefit this fall. Gym janitor Raine Viander seized the opportunity as soon as it was possible. Viander previously tried the city's loanable electric bike and got excited about getting his own bike. Viander has been satisfied with his electric bike and the amount of exercise in everyday life has increased. At the same time, you save gas.

- I got a company bike as soon as I got it. Now I travel 1,5 kilometers to work whenever possible and when I don't need a car during the working day. During the day, one often pedals around 10 kilometers, Viander says.

An electric bicycle does not completely replace a car, but it saves gas at least as much as the bicycle costs per month. Cycling also brightens up the working day and, if necessary, you can set the electric assistant so hard that you don't even break a sweat.

You can get a company bicycle at any store or order it online.

- The employer's approval of the employee bicycle benefit was issued immediately, quickly and easily, thanks Viander.

As a one-time purchase, a 2-euro bike would have been too expensive, but as a work bike, the purchase was convenient. One hundred euros a month comes from the salary, and in two years the bike has been paid for and you can claim it for yourself for 500 euros. At the same time, you could get additional parts for the bike, such as lights, a good lock and first aid. Viander also plans to get studded tires for the winter.

The new employee benefit is part and parcel of the active climate and environmental work of the city of Äänekoski. At Äänekoski, everyone takes responsibility for a better tomorrow. We take care of our environment so that we can leave it better for future generations.
