In the afternoon of zoning, the site plan for the Laajalahti area of Äänekoski was conceptualized
In the Planning Afternoon organized by the city of Äänekoski on Wednesday, March 30.3.2022, XNUMX, together with the residents, Laajalahti's site plan for the land owned by the city was planned.
Planning Manager Nina Marjoniemi and formula designer Carita Kosonen spread the maps on the tables and you could write on them with sticky notes wishes and ideas for the development of the area.
Tapio Heimonen considered the zoning afternoons a good way to involve the townspeople in the planning of the areas.
- The city's service has indeed improved in this regard, and residents' opinions are well taken into account, says Tapio Heimonen.
Also at Panu Tourunen praised the event, in which you could freely participate and come to ask questions and discuss. Tourunen lives with his family next to the Laajalahti area and therefore wanted to join.
- This is a welcome hearing from the townspeople. However, zoning concerns residential environments and they are common issues for everyone, says Tourunen.
In accordance with the new strategy, the city of Äänekoski invests in the participation of residents, and the Zoning afternoons are part of it. There are also more business impact assessments, also in connection with planning projects. They aim to predict the effects of different decisions from the point of view of companies and employment.
The next Zoning afternoon will be held in autumn 2022.
Wishes and ideas for new residential areas, for example, can be submitted to the city's land use services before then.
