Thank you to all the participants of the 5.11.2025 residents' bridge in the city center and thank you for the fruitful discussion! About 50 residents of Painotalo participated in the residents' bridge, and there were also e.g. trustees, entrepreneurs, representatives of the youth council, residents' association and entrepreneurs' organization. Together, we want to make the center of Äänekoski more beautiful, more comfortable and more attractive. We also hope to increase community spirit and encounters!

At the residents' meeting, questions that came in advance were initially discussed, e.g. about the development of the market area and the disruptive activity occurring in the area, the traffic signs in the city center, the improvement of green areas, etc. with voluntary park guardian activities, buildings to be demolished, tourist attractions and outdoor fitness equipment.

In addition, the development of the multipurpose square and the Wahlman house area, road issues, integration and the youth council's roof initiative were discussed.

The youth council also brought other development ideas and wishes as greetings, e.g. from a place where young people hang out. The city also wants to involve young people in the development of Äänekoski.

The residents also had very concrete development proposals, some of which we aim to implement later or otherwise move forward. The common goal is to make the center of Äänekoski more beautiful, more comfortable and more attractive.

In the evening, the greetings of the entrepreneur association were also heard. We should work together for a vibrant city center and to get people to come here.

The flying squirrel situation in the felling areas of the city of Äänekoski was clarified in the spring: according to ELY, it was found that there was no breeding or resting place for the flying squirrel in the area
