"Nowhere other than Äänekoski would you build serviced apartments in such a place"
Eerolanranta, built on the shore of Lake Kuhnamo, will be moved to in January
- We at Äänekoski care about the elderly and want to guarantee a dignified old age for all Äänekoski residents and invest in the well-being of people of all ages. Everyone who has been making Eerolanranta should be proud of their good work, mayor Matti Tuononen says.

The new, wonderful Eerolanranta serviced housing unit in Äänekoski has been completed. The final finishing works and cleaning are currently being done and the furniture will be delivered at the beginning of January. Residents and employees will be able to move into the new premises at the end of January. Most of the customers move to Tukipuu, which as a building has been functionally and structurally challenging.
Eerolanranta is owned and built by the Äänekoski Asumispalvesäätiö with the assistance of the Housing Finance and Development Center (ARA). The city of Äänekoski has also contributed to the realization of the project.
The cost estimate of the project is more than eight million euros and the two-story building has a total size of approximately 3 square meters. The Jyväskylä unit of WSP Finland Oy handled the construction and supervision of the site. The construction work started in September 000 and the construction has gone well. YIT has acted as the KVR contractor, and local contractors have also been used whenever possible. There has been relatively little additional work and they have also gone well.
- The level of finishing is indeed high, vs. the technical director Erika Räihä thank.
The building is located on a plot leased by the city, in beautiful scenery on the shore of Lake Kuhnamo, in Piilolanniemi. From the beginning of the year, the operation will move to the welfare area, which organizes the services of serviced housing, rents the premises from the foundation and the city of the plot, and acts as the landlord for the residents.
- Nowhere other than Äänekoski would you build serviced apartments on such a site. This is an absolutely insane place, the leader of serviced housing Maarit Pulli-Hattara states with satisfaction. The location of Eerolanranta is also optimal because Kuhnamo's service building is next door.

Emphasis has been placed on homeliness and functionality
The employees have been able to participate in planning the new house and have been able to influence the project throughout the construction. Usability, homeliness and everyday functions have been taken into account in the design.
- Small sensible things can make the daily life of caregivers and customers easier, says Pulli-Hattara.
According to Maarit Pulli-Hattara, the new premises are also interesting as a place of employment and there have already been inquiries, although no positions are open yet, and no decisions have yet been made in the welfare area about new recruitments.
Eerolanranta offers a home-like home with round-the-clock care for 60 customers, and some of the rooms are designed for couples. The destination has especially taken into account the needs of people with memory problems. Customers can bring their own furniture and decor to their room, and the common spaces are home-like living rooms.
The four different cells of Eerolanranta are themed in different colors and the common areas have beautiful photo wallpapers. The balcony view of the lake is great. For outdoor activities, there is an accessible courtyard with benches, swings and outdoor exercise equipment. A large elevator that can accommodate a movable bed makes the building completely accessible and makes everyday life easier. There are plenty of water points to make maintenance work as effortless as possible for the facilities.
Eerolanranta will hold an open day for all interested parties on Tuesday, December 20.12.2022, 14. You can join the presentation tour at regular hours from the main lobby at 15, 16 and 16, os. Eerolankatu XNUMX, Äänekoski. Welcome to visit!
