Suolahti's Wanha station roof renovation was completed
Suolahti's Wanha station roof repair contract is now complete and the contract reception has been held.

- The job went well and on schedule. The ceiling decorations are still being restored and they are supposed to be put in place next summer. Finishing paintings are also being done, says the city's office engineer Hanna Räsälä.
The main contractor was the local company Rakennussällit Oy. The city of Äänekoski has set aside 100 euros for the roof renewal. In the repair work, the old is respected, but today's building regulations and roof safety are taken into account.
The galvanized roof is allowed to oxidize for a few years before painting to ensure that the roof paint remains.
- The old ceiling had been painted in different shades over the years. In addition to gray, e.g. was found in the old layers of paint. greenish paint shade. The color of the ceiling was discussed with the Finnish Museum Agency, and the color of the ceiling paint will be gray, Räsälä says.
Suolahti Old Station and its surroundings are a historically significant area.
