The staff of Äänekoski daycare centers and schools are trained to give children the best opportunities to learn and grow.

The Finnish National Board of Education has granted the city of Äänekoski project funding of over 42 000 euros for training teaching and educational personnel. The goal is that every child or young person in Äänekoski feels that they are in a safe environment, so that the best possible growth and learning can take place. The project, called In the Right Way, at the Right Time, began at the beginning of 2025 and will last until 2026.

The training of daycare and school personnel is intended to meet the current needs and challenges of the work. The aim of the personnel training is that employees can use their own strengthened interaction skills to create a safe learning environment and an atmosphere of positive interaction. Äänekoski also wants to increase the genuine participation of children and families in the everyday life of schools and daycare centers.

Through training, employees plan and implement, among other things, preventive and corrective interventions to support children's well-being and behavior. The aim is also to develop work communities so that the division of labor between different actors is improved and the strengths of all employees are utilized.

The goal of the project is for every child or young person to feel that they are in a safe environment, allowing for the best possible growth and learning.

Training for school and daycare staff in the city of Äänekoski will now begin during the winter: the first day of training for early childhood education is February 15.2th and for basic education on March 15.3th. The training is being carried out by the Valteri Learning and Guidance Centre. The city of Äänekoski has also offered neighboring municipalities the opportunity to participate in the project's training.
