Enjoy the environmental art of sixth graders in Äänekoski!
220 works will finally be gathered in one Äänekoski art park

As part of the cultural education plan of the city of Äänekoski, a massive environmental art project for all 6th graders in Äänekoski is currently being worked on. A total of 220 works of art have been gathered wrapped in trees into a spectacular visual art trail in the grounds of the Äänekoski Art Museum and elementary schools.
- In a certain way, this community project also binds the schools of Äänekoski together, and the students also get to admire the works of others. Finally, all the works are combined in the art park, although primarily the works are exhibited in schools and museums, Koskela's visual arts teacher Outi Pantsar says.
The works will be on display at the art museum and schools for the beginning of the week (the works will be collected from Suolahti today, September 29.9). For the fall holiday week, they will be moved to the Äänekoski art park as one big art trail, where you can also visit them to admire and hang out. The Äänekoski art park has been created for the common joy of the residents by volunteers on land owned by the city along Keskuskatu. Anyone can make environmental art in the park and it is always open, summer and winter.
The theme of the sixth grade environmental art project is "From the classics to urban art". From the collections of the Äänekoski Art Museum, works made using different techniques were selected, which inspired the students to paint their own work. In addition to their own art project, the students got to know the Äänekoski Art Museum and its exhibitions.
- It's great that the children get to know about the artists from Tonkosko and the art museum gets to know them at the same time, Pantsar says.

All children have the same opportunities
The city of Äänekoski invests in children's cultural education. A larger art project for children and young people is carried out in Äänekoski every year, and this fall 13 sixth graders, or about 220 children, were able to participate. Usually, an art project is something that cannot be done in school. In this project, we got to paint on a wooden board with acrylic colors, which are not normally used in school.
The cultural education plan of the city of Äänekoski Kulttuurikoski guarantees all children in Äänekoski the same opportunities to participate in cultural activities. Starting from daycare and progressing step by step in primary school, the group introduces children and young people to a wide variety of art forms, local cultural offerings and the cultural heritage of the region.
The cultural education plan is supported by art education professionals who guide children and young people's own activities and activities, and e.g. Koskela College is strongly involved in implementing projects. Kulttuurikoski includes the cultural paths of kindergartens and schools.
