The city of Äänekoski published a sustainable life guide for residents

New A guide to sustainable living is aimed at all Äänekoski residents and can be found electronically on the city's website. The guide contains easy ways to identify everyday routines and small and suitable changes for different life situations towards a more sustainable everyday life. With the guide, we want to offer an experience of the significance of each individual activity for the overall well-being of the people of Sankosko.

- Up to 68 percent of all greenhouse emissions are created in ordinary everyday life, so it is small, everyday actions that play a big role in the success of climate work. This guide presents the methods that each of us can implement in our everyday life, environmental manager Hanna Ahonen says.

The everyday choices of each and every person in Tunakoski form the basis of the circular economy. The topics of the guide are food, purchases, consumption and current energy efficiency and saving electricity, as well as waste recycling.
- The guide is written nicely in the we form, and not in an accusatory tone, and the suggestions are not extreme. For example, part of the work trips could be cycled, walked or carpooled. Or change part of the food to a plant-based one. Such actions are also important, Hanna Ahonen describes.

The guide is in accordance with the new, inclusive strategy of the city of Äänekoski and supports its implementation, i.e. the Äänekoski phenomenon. The guide presents local and concrete examples, such as the Piilolanniemi community garden in the city of Äänekoski, which is open to everyone, the "Quick Start" campaign promoting the use of public transport, Äkibaggy's new carpooling service PiggyBaggy, and the free and communal remote work space operated by ÄäneHub.
