Construction sites for Äänekoski Multitoimiaukio, Koivisto's new daycare center and Koulunmäki school's C building begin
The construction of Monitoimiaukio and Koivisto daycare center in the center of Äänekoski starts this week. The demolition of the C building of the Koulunmäki school will also begin.

"Sahara" more representative
The site area of the multi-purpose square (plan picture above) will be fenced at the end of this week, after which the actual excavation work can begin. Streets do not need to be closed during construction, except for possible short breaks. In the vicinity of the construction site, caution is requested due to construction site traffic.
The goal is to create a new pedestrian-oriented core center around Monitoimiaukio and Keskusaukio in front of the town hall, which will attract people to do business and spend time in the center of Äänekoski. The walkways, stones and lamps continue the style of Keskuaukio. The square will also include, for example, plantings, benches, trash cans and bike racks.
- The square will be built to be unified with Keskuaukio, i.e. in practice the curb stones are granite, the surface structures are mainly made of concrete stone with Roman laying. In addition, the entire area will have lighting and planting areas. Rainwater wells will be built to drain the area. The part of the plot on the Kautonkatu side will be built as a temporary gravel parking area, developer engineer Antti Hakkarainen says.
- The Toripaviljonki building previously planned for the area will not be built. Similarly, the water topic will not be implemented due to cost reasons. Old trees are left uncut, except for one birch.
The contractor is Destia Oy, and the cost estimate for the construction project is 640 euros. Nicknamed "Sahara", the square will be completed as a more representative Äänekoski Multipurpose Square by the end of November 000.
The daycare site begins
The construction of Koivisto's new kindergarten will also begin. Monday 5.6. let's start with the removal of trees in the future parking lot and the fencing of the construction site. During the week, the ground contractor will deliver the excavators and start working on the parking area in question.

As a rule, work is done on weekdays between 7:15.30 and XNUMX:XNUMX, mainly in the school area, but also in the area of the old wooden school building and the kindergarten. From time to time, noise caused by normal construction is carried over from the works to the adjacent premises. Particularly noisy works, larger deliveries that disturb user traffic, and possible interruptions in electricity, water and ventilation are always reported separately as far in advance as possible, and efforts are made to organize them, as far as possible, at times when the disturbance would be as minimal as possible.
In addition, the construction site occasionally causes inconvenience to user and customer traffic. The freight traffic of the construction site runs along Koivistonkyläntie to the construction site, which is why access to the school and kindergarten may occasionally be blocked by other traffic at the change area. School traffic will later be directed from behind the old school.
We ask that you exercise caution when moving around the construction site and go over the dangers related to the construction site and work machines with your children. The construction site is not a playground, and you may not go inside the construction site fence without permission. Special caution must be taken into account due to construction site traffic moving between the school's playground and the school.
P2V Rakennus Oy acts as the contractor for the Koivisto daycare center and the cost estimate is 2 euros. The new log kindergarten will be completed according to plans on May 130, 000.
The dismantling of the school will begin
Demolition of the C building of Koulunmäki unified school starts this week. The work will begin by fencing off the site area and arrangements will be made for the traffic control of Koulunmäenkatu and Mikonrait.
The demolition contractor for Koulunmäki is Kasbitek Oy and the demolition contract costs 215 euros.
