The Äänekoski reception center has started its operations
Donations must be based on customer needs
The Äänekoski and Suolahti reception center has started operations and the first customers have arrived in Äänekoski.

The reception center in Äänekoski was established by Hemcare Oy from Jyväskylä under the authority of the Finnish Immigration Service. Ääneseudun Asunnot Oy, owned by the city of Äänekoski, has rented 40 rental apartments to the reception center since the beginning of May, and the actual reception services are organized mainly in Suolahti.
Customers get ready-made basic furnished and equipped apartments, but not everything can be found in them, and customers will definitely need some things. The people of Äänekoski have a strong desire to help refugees. However, the Äänekoski reception center would like to remind you that donations should be based on the needs of the customers.
With local partners for donations has been established Help for Ukrainian refugees in Ääneseud -Facebook group where wishes of reception center customers are announced and donations are coordinated. The city of Äänekoski is mapping a suitable space for donations. The city of Äänekoski and the reception center cannot directly accept donated goods.
In its meeting today, May 20.5.2022, XNUMX, the city of Äänekoski's Ukrainian crisis management group outlined that the city will donate free tickets to the swimming halls of Äänekoski and Suolahti to the customers of the reception center.
The city takes care of the early childhood education and teaching services for the newcomers. Äänekoski's kindergartens and schools have already prepared for the arrival of Ukrainian children and young people. Later, customers are also offered language or integration training. Before that, however, you have to take care of the customers' basic needs.
