According to the resident survey, people in Äänekoski are satisfied with the city's basic services

The revised resident survey of the city of Äänekoski was now carried out for the second time. We were more satisfied with the services provided by Äänekoski Kiinteistönhoito Oy and the city together than last year. We have been very successful in organizing basic services and waste sorting opportunities. In addition, Äänekoski is satisfied with the comprehensive hobby opportunities. With the resident survey, the city receives valuable development proposals and guidelines for the development of its operations and services.
The renewed resident survey has been condensed from the previous one to make it as easy as possible to answer. The number of respondents was a pleasant surprise, and more than 700 responses were received to the survey. Last year, less than 500 responses were received. Responses were received from residents of all ages and from all the settlements and villages of Äänekoski. The resident survey was carried out only with an electronic survey.
The residents' survey surveyed the satisfaction of the residents of Äänekoski for the second time with the services that the city of Äänekoski implements in cooperation with Äänekoski Kiinteistönhoito Oy. The second section of the survey was Hyvä arki, where 12 statements reflecting a good everyday life were to be evaluated.
The cleanliness and maintenance of the premises is commendable
The residents' survey surveyed residents' satisfaction with the services provided jointly by the city of Äänekoski and Kiinteistönhoito Oy, i.e.: parks and playgrounds, harbors and boating, cityscape and general cleanliness as well as cleanliness and maintenance of public spaces, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, and street maintenance.
Residents' satisfaction with jointly produced services has slightly improved from the previous year.
The best grade of 3,8 was given to the cleanliness and maintenance of public spaces and indoor sports venues (on a scale of 1-5). Street maintenance received the lowest rating with a rating of 3, which remained at the same level as last year.
- The city of Äänekoski and Kiinteistönhoito Oy have actively tried to enhance and improve cooperation and services, and it is now reflected in the residents' answers. Based on the open answers, the maintenance of small playgrounds and the port of Äänekoski emerged as areas for development. As regards them, the development will continue and there are plans for an EU-funded investment project to improve the ports' infrastructure. In addition, the park plan is being updated, development manager Tanja Sulin says.
It is easy to live and live in Äänekoski
In the Good everyday section, the best grade (4) was given to the statement "Äänekoski has comprehensive basic services organized by the city, such as schools and libraries". The second best rating (3,8) was given to the statements "It is easy to live and live in Äänekoski" and "Äänekoski has sufficient waste sorting facilities".
Compared to the previous year, the satisfaction of the municipal residents was somewhat weaker in terms of the city's comfort, availability of services and event activities.
286 responses were received to the open answer section of the resident survey, most of which are city development ideas. In the answers, it was hoped, e.g. more events especially for children and young people, reforms related to general cleanliness such as more trash cans, a place for young people to hang out and better public transport between the villages and the city centre.
The city's communication reaches out well
According to the survey, the best means of communication to reach residents is the Facebook page of the city of Äänekoski and the city's website. The communication of the city of Äänekoski is perceived as active.
- We received a lot of valuable information with the resident survey, thank you to everyone who answered the survey! Together, this city will be developed and the implementation of the development proposals and ideas that emerged in the survey will be investigated. Next, the results of the resident survey will be reviewed in the strategy working group consisting of city officials and trustees in May, says Sulin.
Three gift cards to local stores will be drawn among those who answered the survey and left their contact information. Winners will be notified personally.
