The city of Äänekoski ensures that all willing children and young people in the reception center can start school this fall. The city of Äänekoski organizes an information session about school and early childhood education for parents of school-age and younger children this week.
Those who came from Ukraine still have the opportunity to complete their country's compulsory schooling remotely, but if they wish, children and young people are also entitled to a Finnish school.
The children of the Äänekoski reception center are organized in their own groups for basic education in preparation for basic education, where the teaching is focused on the Finnish language and Finnish culture. The city of Äänekoski is hiring three new teachers, and the groups can start at the beginning of September at the latest. Student groups operate at Koulunmäki unified school in Äänekoski.
The city of Äänekoski also offers early childhood education for families whose parents are employed or have access to language training organized by TE services. Children come to care in existing children's groups, depending on which daycare center and children's group have space.
Almost all 300 places in the Äänekoski reception center are now filled. The 230-place reception center to be established in Laukai will operate under the Äänekoski reception center.
