The season program will be opened by singer-songwriter Mikko Harju duo with a concert that starts at the Cultural Center Press House at 19 p.m.
Mikko Harju is known for his exceptional ability to touch listeners with his powerful works and presence. Harju, who began his career as a self-published artist, has written and composed many of his songs himself. Harju's debut album, which received two Emma nominations, has crossed the double platinum mark. The album includes hits such as I am here., The sky is not the limit and You are enough., which have streamed double platinum.
Sunday, February 16.2th at 14 pm Maarianvaara Theatre brings a performance to the Printing House, tinged with lively humor and lively music Pähkinäsaari 1323 – Border Carnival. The performance considers whether two peoples live in Finland and how Eastern and Western Finns differ from each other. The stage will feature stage artists Henry Rasänen ja Timoi Munne and a harpist Janne VanskaThe performance was directed by Juhafrom Joensuu.
Friday, March 14.3th at 20 pm French pianist and composer Andy Emler will visit the Äänekoski Cultural Center Painotalo with his luminous trio. The band includes bassist Claude Tchamitchian and the drummer Eric Echampard.
The trio's open rehearsals can be followed on the same day in Mikkosali starting at 16 pm.
On Friday, March 21.3st, one of the most successful Finnish musicians in history will perform in the Great Hall of the Printing House, Michael MonroeThe Wall Street Journal has called Monroe one of the world's most respected rock stars. Monroe will perform solo at Äänekoski, accompanied by acoustic guitar.
The season program ends with swinging jazz for dancing on Thursday, April 24.4th, when Sami Saari and the Jazz Boys are arriving at Painotalo to mark the release of their third album. Known as the "small farmer" of Finnish soul music, Saari has always been a jazzman at heart. The band combines the strong soloism and unfailing swing of jazz boys with Saari's charismatic performance. Saari's inventive and engaging Finnish lyrics offer a surface for identification for every listener.
