Annual inspections of playgrounds are currently underway
The new theme park will be completed in June

Äänekoski has no fewer than 28 playgrounds for children, families with children and play in all urban areas. In June, a new theme park will be completed in Rantapuisto. Playgrounds are managed and maintained constantly with safety first. The city's numerous playgrounds encourage movement while playing. We offer a good growth environment for the child, and in Äänekoski, the little one grows big.
The city of Äänekoski and Äänekoski Kiinteistönhoito Oy carry out annual inspections as well as functional and visual inspections in the playgrounds. Annual inspections of playgrounds and playgrounds in schools and kindergartens are currently underway.
In the spring before the annual inspections, functional inspections with corrective measures have been carried out, and they are carried out three times a year. In addition to these, visual inspections are carried out on weekdays in the summer, even on a daily basis, in the most used playgrounds and in other playgrounds at least once a month.
The city of Äänekoski hopes that the users of the playgrounds report their observations as soon as possible to the city's feedback service at www.aanekoski.fi/palaute. All kinds of vandalism, littering and vandalism are unfortunately done in playgrounds and in the yards of schools and kindergartens. Feedback service messages are responded to immediately on the next business day.

Welcome to move and play!
Playgrounds and play equipment in schools and kindergartens are repaired throughout the summer according to need and urgency, so that children can play there as comfortably and safely as possible. Put on your kura suit and go to work!
If the play equipment is faded, it does not mean that it is unusable. When there is time, the play equipment will of course be repainted. Smudges are constantly being removed from the equipment.
– During visual inspections, routine maintenance is carried out, and during functional inspections, measures according to the maintenance plan are carried out, such as changing rocker bearings and chains, leveling the surface of safety sand and tightening fasteners, city gardener Tiina Nejlik describes.
- In the annual inspection, attention is paid to the reduced structural durability of the equipment, damage that may have been caused by e.g. the weather, and changes that have been implemented since the previous annual inspection. These can be the result of basic maintenance, the replacement of worn parts or the installation of various add-ons. Of course, attention is paid to the general safety level of the area and the condition of the trees and plantings.
In winter, playgrounds do not have winter maintenance, because safe playing on the equipment cannot be guaranteed in winter, because the equipment freezes and the safety platforms are frozen. Rescue roads are being plowed into playgrounds.
As a reminder to dog owners, for reasons of hygiene, do not put dog poop garbage bags in the trash at playgrounds.

The new theme park is this summer's attraction
In June, the new Rantapuisto theme park will be completed, the ideas and implementation of which the children from Anukkoski have participated in. The completion of the park has been slightly delayed due to the cold spring, and if everything goes as planned in the future, the playground will be completed on June 7.6. just before the Äänekoski Äksön event. Next week, elementary schools will organize a park naming contest. There is camera surveillance in the area.
The idea of a theme park originally came from children. Residents have been able to influence the park's theme and location by answering resident surveys. In addition, the children have been able to express their wishes for play equipment and the children's jury voted for the best ensemble as part of the competition for the equipment. Based on the surveys, the jungle and the underwater world were chosen as the theme. The majority supported Rantapuisto on the merits of its calmness, safety and multi-purpose use. The children's wish is that the playground will have at least a nest swing, a wire slide and ground trampolines. The city of Äänekoski has set aside 400 euros for the realization of the dream theme park.
At Äänekoski, we grow with you!
