The new Ask for help button helps Central Finnish youth and families with children
The new welfare area of Central Finland Ask for help button has been implemented. The ask for help button is an electronic service channel through which a young person or a parent of a family with children can get support and advice and, if necessary, guidance on the right kind of help.
The purpose is to offer low-threshold support to young people and families with children in Central Finland. The need for help or support can be related, for example, to the situation of a family with children or a young person, or to a family member, friend or other close people. You can ask for help anonymously, and when asking for it, you don't need to know which service or professional to contact.
- The goal is to bring one additional contact method alongside the existing services and enable contact regardless of the time of day or place, says service manager Marja Lehtoranta.
The Ask for help button can initially be found in the wellness area websites from certain service pages for families and young people and Omaks.fi, the digital social and health center of families ja young from the pages. A young person or parent fills out an online form that opens with a button, after which the form is forwarded to a social or healthcare professional working in the welfare area. The professional who received the contact from the Ask for help button will contact the person filling out the form within 1-3 business days either by phone or email. Direct link to the form.
Nappi is part of electronic services supporting young people and families with children
The Ask for help button is one of the service channels of the welfare area's electronic family center that supports families with children and young people. The goal of Central Finland's family centers is to promote the well-being and health of children and families with children, as well as early support and care services. Young people and families with children also receive electronic support from the digital social and health center's Omaks from a remote family worker ja from the youth chat.
The button has been developed in the Central Finland welfare region's Future Social and Health Center program together with the welfare region's children, youth and family services. The goal is that residents can easily get the right kind of service, support and help when they need it.
- The Ask for help button is now being piloted in the electronic family center. Based on the user experience gained, we can also consider piloting a similar low-threshold contact channel in other customer groups, says project manager Hanna Mäkiaho.
The Ask for help button is not intended for treating acute issues or emergency situations, and it is not used to make child protection notifications. In emergencies, call 112. The resident must also contact a social worker or healthcare professional directly to book or cancel an appointment.
