Employment services will be transferred to the municipalities at the turn of the year
The doors of the TE office will close and the municipal service points will open their doors on January 2.1.2025, XNUMX
Central Finnish jobseekers will handle job-related issues at municipal service points from the beginning of 2025. The state employment and business offices, or TE offices, will be abolished on January 1.1.2025, 100. The staff of TE offices will move to work in the employment areas formed by the municipalities and in other government agencies. There are now XNUMX days to change.
The transfer of labor services from the state to the employment regions is a historically significant reform. Employment services are used not only by individual customers but also by companies. Job seekers and business customers of all municipalities in Central Finland receive services normally after the turn of the year, but there is a reason to be prepared for a small delay in handling things. The job search of job seekers remains valid as usual despite the change.
- The service numbers and services of the employment areas may be more congested than usual at the beginning of January. My employee may change during the change, so the old phone numbers may no longer work. However, you should not come to the service points on site during the first days of the year, unless there is a compelling reason to do so. The best way to manage your job search affairs is to leave a contact request Asiointi -verkkopalvelussa, which can be found at Työmarkkinatori, project manager for the preparation of the Northern Central Finland employment area Riikka Hytönen says.
There are three employment regions in Central Finland, whose municipalities are Jyväskylä, Jämsä and Äänekoski. The ongoing municipal trials of employment in Central Finland will continue until the end of 2024 as planned.
Employment areas open customer service facilities for job seekers in different municipalities at the turn of the year
Job seekers or business customers do not have to do anything, even if the service provider of employment services changes. It will continue to function as an electronic transaction point for personal and business customers Työmarkkinatorin Asiointi - online service. Työmarkkinatori has already replaced TE offices' websites. In addition to this, the services can be found through the websites of your own municipality or employment area.

Municipalities get tools to develop vitality
The reform brings the services closer to the users. Employment services will become part of the municipality's basic service, in addition to, for example, education services, business services and community building.
Municipalities know their residents and their business life best. In addition, the municipalities want to improve their own vitality and economy with all available means.
- Transferring TE services as a basic municipal service is an opportunity to do things in a new way and shape services for job seekers and companies to suit local customs. The goal is not only to transfer employment services and personnel from the state to employment areas and municipalities, but to develop the services to be even more effective. For example, we can direct vocational training to better support the region's employment and the needs of companies, says the director of employment Hanna Leave From the city of Jyväskylä.
Business customers receive advice and guidance on recruiting employees from their home municipality or from the responsible municipality that provides services to their home municipality.
- The reform brings employment services locally closer to individual and employer customers. Local knowledge helps meet employer needs and enables faster employment. We emphasize a close discussion between the municipality and companies. In addition, we cooperate with the municipalities of Central Finland for regional labor mobility. Even when renewing the services, we will continue the good job of promoting employment, which the TE office has already done over the decades, Jämsä employment regional director The fairy tale Soutolahti says.
